Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, once Hollywood’s golden couple, are still entangled in a lengthy and bitter divorce battle that has dragged on since 2016. Recent updates suggest that while progress is being made, the end is not yet in sight.

Slow Progress Toward a Settlement

Eight years after their initial split, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly making gradual strides towards finalizing their divorce. However, there are still unresolved issues. A source close to both stars told PEOPLE, “Both sides are still talking, but it’s not done yet.”

The couple, who worked together in movies like Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005) and By the Sea (2015), were declared legally single by a judge in 2019, but the divorce proceedings continue.

Family Dynamics

Brad and Angelina share six children: Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (15). Over the past eight years, there have been claims that Jolie has tried to distance the children from Pitt. Notably, four of the kids have reportedly dropped “Pitt” from their last names, indicating their alignment in the ongoing court battle.

PEOPLE reports that Pitt has minimal contact with their adult children and has visitation rights with the younger ones. Due to his busy filming schedule in the UK, he hasn’t been able to spend much time with them recently. Meanwhile, Angelina is said to be happy and focused on her work and children.

Complications and Legal Battles

The divorce proceedings have been complicated by several factors. One significant issue is the 2012 private jet incident, where Jolie accused Pitt of assaulting her while he was intoxicated, with their children present. This accusation has added to the complexity and tension of their legal battle.

Additionally, the couple has been feuding over Château Miraval, their shared French vineyard where they got married. The dispute over this property has grown increasingly heated with each passing trial.

As Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue to navigate their complicated divorce, their journey serves as a reminder of how challenging and prolonged high-profile separations can be, especially when children and significant assets are involved.
