Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi recently addressed the long-standing feud with his co-star Mallika Sherawat, which began in the early 2000s. The two actors, famous for their sizzling chemistry in Anurag Basu’s film “Murder,” had a fallout after the movie’s release. However, in April this year, they were seen hugging and chatting at an event in Mumbai, signaling an end to their 20-year dispute.
The Beginning of the Feud
The public disagreement between Hashmi and Sherawat started after the release of “Murder.” It escalated due to some cheeky comments made by Hashmi on the talk show “Koffee With Karan,” where he called Sherawat the “worst kisser” among his co-stars. Sherawat responded later, humorously saying that a snake she kissed in another film was a better kisser than Hashmi.
A Warm Reunion
Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Hashmi described his recent encounter with Sherawat as “very warm and cordial.” He explained that their past conflict was due to youthful impulsiveness. “We were young and stupid at that time,” he admitted. “You go through a phase in your life when your decision-making power is so limited, and you’re just so impulsive. Some mean things were said by her and some by me. But those are all bygones.”
Moving Forward
Hashmi emphasized that they had put their differences behind them. “It was long back. It was very nice seeing and meeting her. She was very warm, and so was I. She’s a co-actor I wish I could have worked with again,” he said.
“Murder” remains a significant film in both Sherawat and Hashmi’s careers, known for its intense and steamy scenes. Their recent reconciliation has brought a positive closure to their past misunderstandings, allowing both actors to look back on their collaboration fondly.
