Emraan Hashmi and Mahesh Bhatt appeared together on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan 4. The episode became infamous due to Emraan’s controversial answers during the rapid-fire round. In a recent interview, Emraan shared that his intention was “just to teach Bhatt saab a lesson.”
Reflecting on the Rapid-Fire Round
Speaking with Fever FM, Emraan fondly recalled the rapid-fire round. After his answers, the show’s team paused the recording for a 10-minute discussion, unsure if they could air the episode. Eventually, they decided to keep the controversial answers.
Emraan hinted that his boldness might have been due to his younger age. But the Tiger 3 actor corrected himself, saying, “No, no. It was all in jest and to win the hamper.”
He continued, “I respect everyone I mentioned on the show. My goal was to show Bhatt saab who’s boss. He was so confident I wouldn’t stand a chance, so I decided to go all out.”
No Regrets for Emraan
When asked if he has mellowed over time, Emraan confidently stated he would give the same answers today, if not fiercer ones. He noted that interviews today are more controlled due to social media scrutiny, leading to safer responses. “But if you push me to that wild side, it’s still there, ready to unleash,” he added.
The Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Comment
During the show, Emraan had called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘plastic.’ Reflecting on this comment during an interview with The Lallantop, he admitted it was a “distasteful” remark and acknowledged that people often get offended on social media. However, he explained that his answers were part of a game and meant to be taken light-heartedly.
