In a recent interview with Zoom, Farida Jalal explained that her comments about not being in touch with Shah Rukh Khan were misinterpreted. She had mentioned that the phone numbers she had for Shah Rukh and Salman Khan might be outdated.
“I just said that the numbers I have are perhaps old. They must have changed them. That’s all I had said,” she clarified.
The veteran actress expressed her frustration over how her innocent remark turned into a sensational headline because it involved big names like Shah Rukh and Salman Khan. “It was an innocent question. What will I say?” she remarked.
Setting the Record Straight
Farida Jalal shared that she felt hurt by the twisted versions of her statement. “I get a little affected by people saying that I have said things like ‘Bahot farak aa gaya hai Shah Rukh Khan mein.’ Why would I say such a thing?” she questioned.
She praised Shah Rukh Khan, acknowledging his growth and transformation over the years. “He has become such a seasoned actor. He is, in fact, the best we have,” she added.
Fond Memories of Working with Shah Rukh Khan
Farida Jalal fondly recalled working with Shah Rukh in Mahesh Bhatt’s “Duplicate” during the 1990s. She remembered how his high energy on set would often leave her feeling “exhausted.”
Previous Remarks About Not Being in Touch
In an earlier interview with India Today, Farida Jalal had mentioned that she wasn’t in touch with Shah Rukh or Salman Khan, attributing it to their changed phone numbers. She had shared that calling Shah Rukh’s old number would lead to “nobody on that line” and mentioned his “secretary is not kind.”
