The rumors started circulating after Sania’s ex-husband, Shoaib Malik, announced his marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed in January 2024. Following this announcement, reports claimed that Sania had found love again with Mohammed Shami.
In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Shami, 33, responded to these rumors, urging people to be responsible with what they share on social media. He said, “I urge everyone to be responsible with social media and refrain from spreading such unfounded news.”
These rumors were fueled by a doctored photo that went viral, showing Shami and Sania in wedding attire. The original photo was from Sania’s 2010 wedding to Shoaib Malik, but Shami’s face was edited in place of Malik’s.
Shami expressed his frustration with people spreading false information for entertainment without considering the consequences. He stated, “People do such things for lame fun without knowing the consequences. Even though memes are made for fun, when they are related to someone’s life, people should think twice before posting such lies.”
Shami also challenged those spreading fake news to do so from verified accounts, saying, “If you have the courage, post from a verified account, and then we will respond. It’s easy to pull someone down. Achieve success, raise your level, and then I will consider you good people.”
