Months after reuniting with his estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared some candid thoughts on marriage during a podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia. Reflecting on his views about the institution of marriage, Nawazuddin offered a surprising perspective.
“I want to say this, but people might misinterpret it… They shouldn’t get married. What is the need to get married? If you are in love, it can grow even without marriage. After marriage, people start taking each other for granted,” Nawazuddin explained. He believes that love tends to fade after marriage. “If you are not married to each other, then you love each other more. But after marriage, that starts diminishing. Kids come into the picture, a lot of things happen. If you love someone and want to continue loving them, then don’t get married,” he advised.
Nawazuddin also talked about how societal conditioning shapes our views on marriage. “We think our love, our wife will give us happiness, but after a while, it is only your work that gives you joy,” he shared.
Nawazuddin’s honest reflections challenge traditional ideas about marriage and suggest that true happiness might come from different aspects of life.
