Emraan Hashmi Applauds Ranbir Kapoor’s Role in Animal

Emraan Hashmi, who made his acting debut with Footpath in 2003 and gained fame with the 2004 thriller Murder, has built a reputation for taking on challenging roles. His portrayal of the antagonist Aatish Rehman in Tiger 3, alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is just one example of his versatile acting skills.

During a recent podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, Hashmi discussed Kapoor’s performance in Animal. He admitted that he hadn’t watched many of Kapoor’s earlier “chocolate boy” roles but was deeply impressed by his portrayal in Animal. “Ranbir played a complex character with such conviction. It’s truly commendable,” Hashmi remarked.

Emraan Hashmi Reflects on Being Typecast

In the same interview, Hashmi also talked about his own experience with being typecast as Bollywood’s “serial kisser.” He explained how certain traits can become synonymous with an actor’s image, making it difficult to shake off.

Hashmi pointed out that even megastars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have signature elements that audiences expect. Shah Rukh is known for his iconic open-arms pose, while fans love to see Salman remove his shirt. Anil Kapoor’s memorable “Jhakaas” dialogue also exemplifies this phenomenon.

Looking Ahead
