In a shocking turn of events, the Mumbai Crime Branch has made significant progress in the investigation of the firing incident at Salman Khan’s house. The incident, which took place on April 14, has led to the filing of a 1,735-page chargesheet under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against nine individuals, including the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Key Developments in the Case

The chargesheet filed by the Mumbai Crime Branch includes the names of six arrested individuals: Harpal Singh, Vicky Kumar Gupta, Sagar Kumar Pal, Mohammed Rafiq Sardar Choudhari, the late Anuj Thapan, and Sonu Subhashchandra Bishnoi. Additionally, it names three wanted suspects, including Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in jail.

Comprehensive Investigation Details

According to PTI, the chargesheet is divided into three volumes and contains extensive investigative documents. It records statements from 46 witnesses under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), meaning these statements were made before a magistrate. The chargesheet also includes confessional statements under the MCOC Act, 22 panchanamas (documents recording the evidence collected during the investigation), and various technical evidence.

The Bishnoi Gang Connection

Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, has claimed responsibility for the attack on Salman Khan’s house. The Mumbai police have recovered audio evidence from one of the arrested suspects, confirming Anmol Bishnoi’s involvement. Anmol, who is on India’s Most Wanted list and currently resides in Canada, played a crucial role in organizing the attack. He provided the shooters with weapons in Panvel on March 15, 2024, and detailed instructions on carrying out the shooting at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment. The shooters were reportedly paid ₹3 lakh for their involvement, orchestrated by Anmol Bishnoi, who remains at large and is being tracked by international authorities.

Ongoing Investigation

The chargesheet is a critical step in holding those responsible for the attack accountable. As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to capture the remaining suspects and ensure justice is served.

This case highlights the relentless efforts of the Mumbai Crime Branch in tackling organized crime and ensuring the safety of high-profile individuals.
