Farah Khan recently shared a funny and heartwarming story from the filming of the song “Deewangi Deewangi” from the movie Om Shanti Om. This song features many Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan, and the legendary Dharmendra.
Dharmendra, often called the He-Man of Bollywood, was scheduled to arrive in the afternoon for his scene. Despite their own scenes being completed, Salman, Saif, Sanjay, and Shah Rukh decided to wait for Dharmendra to arrive. Farah Khan recalled how all four actors went to Shah Rukh’s vanity van to relax until Dharmendra got there.
When Dharmendra arrived and started dancing for his shot, Salman Khan couldn’t resist jumping in. “Dharam ji arrived on set and started his dance. Suddenly, without anyone saying anything, Salman jumped into the take,” Farah remembered. She added that the cameraman luckily didn’t stop filming, so she told him to keep rolling. Soon after, Saif Ali Khan also joined the impromptu dance, even though he had no idea what was going on.
Farah described how Saif looked confused but joined in the fun. “If you look closely, you can see Saif wondering what he should do,” she said with a laugh. The spontaneous moment ended with all the actors hugging, and this scene was included in the final cut of the movie.
Farah also revealed that in 2020, Salman and his co-stars waited four hours just to watch Dharmendra’s shot. This shows their admiration and respect for the veteran actor.
Om Shanti Om stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, with Arjun Rampal playing the villain. This behind-the-scenes story adds a special touch to the beloved film, highlighting the camaraderie and spontaneous fun shared by Bollywood’s biggest stars.
