Taapsee Pannu recently opened up about whether she would have joined the film “Animal” by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, starring Ranbir Kapoor. Here’s what she had to say!

“Animal,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor, became one of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters after its release in December 2023. Even though it’s been a while since the film hit the cinemas, it’s still a hot topic.

During a recent event, Taapsee Pannu was asked if she would have been a part of “Animal” if given the opportunity. She responded, “On paper, yes.”

Taapsee Pannu Reflects on “Animal”

Taapsee attended the Expresso event, where she shared her thoughts on the movie. She explained that if she had read the script, she would have been as excited as Ranbir Kapoor. However, she highlighted that there is a difference between reading a script and seeing the final movie.

“The film is a director’s medium,” Taapsee said. “When I am reading a script, I don’t know which shot he is putting at a low angle and with high background music… I can’t see that through the script.” She pointed out that the director’s vision and post-production work bring out the final character portrayal, which isn’t always apparent on paper.

Taapsee also noted some problematic aspects of “Animal.” She found it “a little strange to hear cheers and whistles at certain moments” where she wouldn’t have appreciated the background score that influenced the audience’s reactions.

Comparing to Her Role in “Badla”

To further explain her point, Taapsee compared it to her role in the 2019 film “Badla.” She knew her character was “thoroughly dark” and had no redemption. In “Badla,” the darkness of her character wasn’t celebrated, which she appreciated.

Taapsee Pannu’s Current Projects

Taapsee was last seen in the 2023 comedy-drama film “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Shah Rukh Khan. The movie was a huge success, crossing the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office.

Next, she will be seen in “Khel Khel Mein,” alongside Akshay Kumar, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, and others. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, this film is set to release on August 15, 2024.

Conclusion

Taapsee Pannu’s thoughtful comments on “Animal” reflect her careful consideration of scripts and her respect for the director’s vision. As she continues to take on diverse roles, her fans eagerly await her upcoming projects.
