In another post, Shifty shared a picture of people wearing white outfits and masks, with one person dressed in black. The image had the text, “Real is rare, fake is everywhere.” In his caption, Shifty mentioned it was for those who stayed with him even when he tried to push them away. Crazy Town, formed in 1995, became famous for their hit song “Butterfly.” The band split in 2003 but reunited in 2015, releasing an album called The Brimstone Sluggers. Shifty battled substance abuse publicly and appeared on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab and Sober House.
In 2012, Shifty was hospitalized after falling into a coma due to substance abuse but recovered. Despite his struggles, he continued to make music and announced earlier this year that Crazy Town would release a new version of “Butterfly” with Black Oxygen.
