Kota Factory has captured the hearts of many with its honest portrayal of the life of IIT students. One question that fans often ask is why the series is mostly shown in black and white. Mayur More, who plays Vaibhav Panday, recently shared the reason behind this unique choice.

The Vision Behind Black and White

In a conversation with Digital Commentary, Mayur More explained why Kota Factory is filmed in black and white. The director of photography, Jerin Paul, used two monitors during the shoot—one in black and white and one in color. Mayur said, “After our shoots, we watched the scenes on the black-and-white monitor. Jerin would worry about the lighting, saying, ‘This lighting is for black-and-white. If the show is in color, it won’t look right.'”

The team began to feel that the black-and-white version truly captured the essence of Kota Factory. It was a big experiment, and fortunately, it worked. The monochrome palette was approved, adding a distinctive touch to the series.

Will There Be a Kota Factory Season 4?

Fans are eager to know if there will be a fourth season of Kota Factory. Director Pratish Mehta spoke to OTTPlay about this. He mentioned that the team aims to stay relatable and true to the experiences of students and teachers. “If we get the green light for Season 4, we will continue to make the show as relatable as possible,” Mehta said.

Jitendra Kumar, who plays Jeetu Bhaiya, emphasized the importance of exploring real-life changes and incorporating them into the story. He believes this approach keeps the audience engaged and the series fresh.
